Many Africans were taken to Haiti during the Triangular Trade. Our heart goes out to Haiti and all those touched by this tragedy that, thanks to modern technology is being brought immediately to our attention. 

My friend and brother, Richard Muhammad, editor of The Final Call said, "Let's use this tragedy to get closer to one another and support one another -- so-called Black Americans and Haitian Americans it's time to unite! Our people need us!."
